MATERIALS

  • Instrument & Music

  • Device & Dot Book (UDB app - all students except front ensemble)

  • Water bottle/jug

  • Athletic shoes + socks

  • Hat

  • Sunglasses

    • suggest wide brim “Boonie” style

  • Sunscreen

    • SPF30 minimum recommended. Re-apply at 2-hour interval.

  • Gloves: baseball-type gloves, specifically for brass students

  • Attire

    • Light colors (avoid black clothing due to sun absorption)

    • Loose fitting, thin

    • Shirt: short-sleeved tee shirt (dry-weave material is optimal)

    • Shorts: Mesh (athletic) or lightweight material

    • Avoid denim

Other Suggestions

  • Hearing protection (ear plugs) - recommend ‘VIBES’ brand, designed for musicians

  • Deodorant / Antiperspirant

  • Extra Pair Socks

  • Extra Shirt

  • FlipFlops / Sandals / etc to wear during breaks

  • Back Pack exclusively for Marching Band activities

LUNCHTIME INFO

  • Students may choose to bring a lunch, go to nearby restaurants off-campus (by car or on foot), or be picked up by a parent to leave campus.

  • If walking off-campus to lunch, students must remain on the northwest corner of the intersection of 71st and Mingo; students are not allowed to walk across Mingo or across 71st Street.

  • If leaving campus during RR Summer All-Days, students should return by 12:20p in order to be ready for the afternoon rehearsal sessions.

  • During RR All-Days only: Lunch meals available for purchase on-site at the Band Building, catered by Marshall Family Food Truck.
